Communication with customers, carriers, and anyone involved in the full cycle of transportation solutions. The account manager is responsible for consistently communicating with all parties involved and must implement corrective action as needed in order to ensure that a standard of service and a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained daily. This position reports to the Branch Manager.About the RoleCore Functions/Expectations:Develop and manage a portfolio of customer accounts with a focus on promoting growth and achieving long term relationships, as well as maintaining successful performance levels required by customer.Provide quality service to all customers; build relationships based off clear, honest, and timely communication. Additionally, maintain acceptable metric scores for all customers to ensure retention of the customers and growth as opportunities are presented.Analyze customer inquiries, make informed decisions with information presented, and provide quality and timely updates to customer as well as solutions to any problems.Weekly communication is required for all customers and contacts within each account, as well as occasional in-person visits to existing and potential customers.Stay informed with current market conditions including advertising and promotional trends that develop within each customer. Each customer has steady inbound/outbound locations that consistently serve their needs, so each account rep needs to understand and maintain current market knowledge.Capture all leads for growth opportunities through participation in all RFQ, RFP, and spot bid opportunities. If opportunities are presented, make sure to ask the right questions to why we are quoting a lane/load to gain more knowledge and try to give us leverage on securing more business.Each account rep needs to maintain current market knowledge to enhance their ability to quote lanes or loads by themselves as opportunities are presented. With this, each account rep needs to understand the process in which the customer wants the quotes submitted.
