OSP - Fiber Splicing Supervisor - Riverton, VA 22630Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 per year + benefits + uniform + phone allowanceThe Fiber Splicing Supervisor position is responsible for the over project performance and timelines committed to the customers. Field personnel assigned to projects related to OSP including all permitting, construction, red lining and preliminary As Built drawing approval and municipality relations. The Fiber Supervisor will requisition labor and materials to meet timely execution of deadlines and manage sub-contractors, production reporting and milestone pay sheets, inspectors and material vendors.Essential Job FunctionsManagement of permitting, contractors, material vendors, inspectors and all construction vendorsRead OTDR traces to verify the levels are correctTroubleshoot fiber and figure out issues.Oversees the scheduling and training of field inspectors & sub-contractorsCost & control estimating, preliminary engineering, production tracking / reporting.Interface with state and local permitting agencies, DOTs and other activities as requiredRequirementsKnowledge and ability to read splice matrix's & drafted design mapsKnowledge and ability to perform QC & quality standards and implement into job siteBS Engineering related field or Construction Management or related experienceStrong interpersonal, organizational and communication skillsProficient with PCs and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)Current valid driver's licenseAbility to read and produce field drawings and updatesOther Skills/AbilitiesAbility to understand mapping programs and key identifiers in a fiber optic network, read and utilize GPS units and record network positioningAbility to prepare, splice and test FOC via use of power meters / light source, OTDR and reporting requirements and fusion splice equipmentKnowledge of "Call Before You Dig" rules and regulations as they apply to a network utility providerKnowledge of grounding principles in an underground utility networkKnowledge of OSHA safety rules and regulations as they apply to locating and providing repair and maintenance within a fiber optic networkPhysical RequirementsMust be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reachMust be able to drive a motor vehicleMust be able to speak, write, read and understand EnglishMust have visual acuityMust be able to lift 0-25 poundCompany DescriptionBroadband Power Solutions (BPS) delivers comprehensive telecommunication, cable construction and engineering services across the United States.
