Assistant Superintendent
Juneau Construction Company is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join our team based in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have experience managing trade partner and subcontractor relationships through the lifecycle of a project. Experience working on multifamily, mixed-use. ground up builds is preferred. The Assistant Superintendent will support a project within the Juneau Construction Company footprint, and may be required to travel for the duration of a project schedule.General Description:The Assistant Superintendent's primary job responsibility is to supervise the execution of Juneau's projects in the field under the Project, Area or Senior Superintendent.Position Qualifications:B.S. or A.S. in Construction Management or related engineering discipline preferredMinimum 3 years experience on commercial construction projects $30MM+ (with degree)Minimum 5 years experience on commercial construction projects $30MM+ (without degree)OSHA 30Duties and Responsibilities:Overall support for all field activitiesSafety Officer on projectSecondary contact to clients and designers for field related mattersShared responsibility for schedule, quality, safety on projectAttend Weekly Subcontractor meetings as neededOrganize and manage Assistant Superintendents and Field EngineersAssist in management of Self-Performed Work Crew (support Concrete Superintendent)Provide input related to constructability and assist preconstruction with buyoutKey participant in formal interviews during contractor selection processAssist with permitting when necessaryCreate and maintain site utilization plan as neededAssist in establishing master construction scheduleAssist in managing master schedule updatesAssist project staff with calculating additional time on delay claimsAssist in enforcing schedule compliance with subcontractorsShared responsibility for quantity, quality, and assignments of Juneau's hourly staffManager of consistent quality control procedures on projectParticipate with project team in detailed reviews of plans and specificationsParticipate in subcontractor selection with preconstructionConstant field monitoring of work in progressEnsure compliance of safety related reportingParticipate in determining project field and hourly staff requirements/costAssist preconstruction with large material purchases as neededContribute to Lessons Learned reporting at the end of each projectAnalyze and provide appropriate prequalification feedback on subcontractor partnersSystems Knowledge:Experience with traditional construction industry software similar to the following:Microsoft OfficeExcel & Procore based cost projection systemPrimavera P6 Scheduling softwareComputerized estimating systemsProcore document controlDrone DeployMS TeamsViewpoint/Vista financial softwareP-Vault electronic invoicingBlue Beam editing softwareBuilding Connected/Procore Subcontractor Solicitation/PrequalificationBIM 360 Glue (working knowledge)Physical Demands / Job Expectations:Position will work on-site with exposure to various weather conditions and may require regional travel between applicable Juneau Construction Company locations and jobsites.Must be able to stand, sit, feel, twist, walk, talk, hear, see, bend, crouch, squeeze grasp, crawl, kneel, squat, push, pull, apply pressure, reach overhead.Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly if required.Must be able to safely operate all required machinery.
