Flyover attractions are located in Chicago; Las Vegas; Reykjavik, Iceland; and Vancouver, Canada.About The RoleAs part of the Operator and Maintenance team you will be empowered to meet the expectations of our guests by ensuring our presentations are operating safely and effectively. Technical Operators are expected to ensure the timing of the different segments of the attraction stay on track and on schedule as well as completing ride safety checks and basic repairs of the ride and AV systems. Technical Operators must possess excellent communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and have positive outlook and desire to make Flyover Chicago a one-of-a-kind, wonderful experience for guests.The wage for this role is $22 USD/hourly, and a full breakdown of perks and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.What You'll DoDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESOperating the Flyover Chicago ride monitoring and ensuring guest and team member safety at all timesCommunicating efficiently using proper radio protocol Performing site opening and closing duties, including ride quality checks Recovering ride malfunctions Coordinating ride evacuation in accordance with procedures Looking out for and informing Supervisors and Technical team of safety concerns Completing daily ride safety checks and intermediate ride repairs Evaluating AV system performance, completing preventative maintenance, and basic repairs Assist in training of Ride Operators in typical operation of ride and AV systems and malfunction recovery Other duties as neededDesired SkillsTechnical background Demonstrated understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer systems Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays Comfortable with sitting and/ or standing for long periods of time 1+ year/s experience with amusement rides an assetIDEAL BEHAVIORS & TRAITSStrong “can-do,” attitude with willingness to be flexible and adaptableAbility to make decisions, solve problems and exercise good judgmentStrong commitment to building positive working relationshipsWillingness to work with a geographically dispersed team in a seasonal environmentResourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutionsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentSense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely mannerSense of humor and ability to ‘let things roll’ when the unexpected happensSolid written and verbal communication skillsHospitality and service-focused mindset including the need to work successfully with both internal and external partnersStrong sense of prioritization and focus to complete tasksPhysical RequirementsMoves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassistedPositions self to service and install equipment which may include bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, or reachingFrequently moves throughout jobsite and uses stairsMay spend extended periods in stationary positionsUses ladders and elevated work platforms to complete tasksWorks at height utilizing fall protection equipmentWelcoming All ApplicantsAt Flyover, we value a strong team built on respect and professionalism.
