This position provides strategic guidance on talent development, recruitment, and workforce planning. As the Employee Relations lead, the role manages and resolves employee relations matters, conducts workplace investigations, ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws, and provides expert guidance on complex employee issues, all while fostering a positive, respectful, and compliant work environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS: HR Partner Responsible for recruitment, hiring, employee job changes, onboarding, and offboarding for an assigned client list. Partners with other HR team members to ensure consistent, high-quality support across all divisions.Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and develop accurate, detailed job descriptions and hiring criteria.Evaluate and implement effective recruiting methods and strategies based on position requirements, industry best practices, and organizational needs to attract high quality candidatesCoordinate and guide hiring managers through the Paycor recruitment, interview, selection, and offer processes.Train and support hiring managers on interview techniques, compliance, and hiring procedures.Employee RelationsAs lead for employee relations; support supervisors and managers in addressing performance issues and improving employee productivity.Provide guidance, training sessions, recommendations, and support on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, investigations, terminations, and compliance with employment laws and policies.Collect, track, and report on employee relations data, ensuring the accurate and confidential maintenance of records related to investigations, concerns, and issue resolution.Manage the annual performance review process.Manage ADA Accommodation process.Coordinate and conduct exit interviews and manage the employee off‑boarding processes.General ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the HR team to develop and implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.Participate in the development of departmental goals, objectives, and systems.Learn and support day‑to‑day HR operations, providing backup assistance to team members as needed.All other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Experience: 2+ years of related experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in a higher education environment.Experience working in the Paycor systemPHR or SHRM certificationExperience with Title IX policy and proceduresKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict‑resolution skills.Proficiency with Microsoft-based applications.Strong service orientation with a demonstrated ability to effectively meet the needs of and work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coach/advise employees and management through sensitive HR issues to resolve conflict and seek workable solutionsAbility to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are a representation of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
