About the TeamThe Virtual Preparatory Academy of West Virginia is a K-12 tuition-free online public school in the state of West Virginia. At VPA West Virginia, we empower students to be their best by enabling them to learn in ways that are right for them, using innovative technology at home and at their proper level.Under the guidance and supervision of the Operations Manager, the State and District Testing and Data Coordinator is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing all aspects of local, state, and federally mandated assessments, as well as ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of student data reporting. This position serves as the liaison between the district, state education agencies, school sites, and assessment vendors to ensure timely and effective administration of tests and reporting of data. The coordinator provides leadership in using assessment data to inform instructional practices and policy decisions that support student achievement.Eligibility: Open to residents of West VirginiaAbout the OpportunityAssessment CoordinationDevelop and manage the district-wide testing calendar to align with state, federal, and local assessment requirements, including i-Ready diagnostic and practice testing windowsCoordinate administration of all required assessments, including but not limited to: state summative tests, alternate assessments, English language proficiency tests, and schoolwide benchmark assessmentsCoordinate in-person testing schedules and locations to ensure equitable access for all students, including those in alternative settings or remote learning environmentsDevelop logistics, training, and secure handling of testing materials for both online and paper-based assessmentsProvide professional development and technical support to school staff and familiesCoordinate parent communication efforts related to assessments, including developing and distributing assessment calendars, informational materials, testing schedules, and student score reports; respond to parent inquiries and ensure families are informed about the purpose, schedule, and use of assessmentsEnsure accommodations and testing supports are properly implemented for students with disabilities and English learners in all assessment settingsMonitor and support fidelity of implementation of schoolwide assessments to ensure consistent usage and valid dataData Management and ReportingManage the collection, validation, and submission of all student academic and demographic data required for local and state reporting systems (e.g., WVEIS)Coordinate the integration and analysis of i-Ready data alongside state and district assessments to provide a comprehensive view of student progressEnsure data accuracy and consistency across systems and platforms, identifying and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with school and district teamsPrepare detailed reports and dashboards on assessment outcomes to support instructional planning, MTSS, and strategic planningProvide training and support to teachers on accessing, interpreting, and utilizing i-Ready and other assessment data to inform instructionCompliance and Quality AssuranceMaintain up-to-date knowledge of all state and federal testing requirements, including security and ethical testing practicesCreate and maintain training materials related to testing procedures and data reportingConduct audits and implement safeguards to ensure assessment integrity and accurate data collectionInvestigate and respond to testing irregularities and data issues, including developing and implementing corrective action plans as neededAbout YouBachelor’s Degree Required, Master's Degree PreferredMinimum of 3 years of experience in educational testing, assessment coordination, or data managementProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite ProductsStrong spreadsheet skills including the ability to use basic and intermediate formulas and functionsPrior experience working in a school setting preferredPrior experience managing law and regulation compliancePrior experience creating and documenting procedures and workflowsAbility to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentialityDemonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethicAbility to manage difficult or emotional client situationsAbility to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicatedDemonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfareDemonstrated leadership and management abilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistentlyCustomer service orientedAbility to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team membersAbility to work independently and contribute to a teamUnderstanding and ability to manage confidential informationAbility to lift 25 lbs.Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checksAbout Us“We believe that every child should be able to be anything they want in life, regardless of their birthplace and circumstances.” – Ron Packard, CEO & FounderACCEL Schools is a network of 80+ high-performing, public charter schools serving PK-12 students.
