The Cloud Engineer will support the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of secure cloud infrastructure for federal and government-based systems. The role involves managing cloud-hosted learning management systems, supporting enterprise applications, maintaining system availability, and assisting with cloud security and compliance operations. The candidate will work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud environments using modern cloud platforms and infrastructure automation tools.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain cloud-hosted Moodle LMS environmentsSupport AWS GovCloud and Microsoft Azure Government infrastructure operationsMonitor cloud systems for performance, scalability, reliability, and availabilityAssist with cloud deployment, configuration, and infrastructure management activitiesSupport backup management, disaster recovery planning, and system restoration processesImplement and maintain cloud security controls and compliance standardsAssist in DevSecOps activities and deployment automation processesSupport Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar toolsTroubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and provide technical support when requiredMaintain documentation related to cloud architecture, deployments, configurations, and operational proceduresCollaborate with cybersecurity and engineering teams to improve cloud security postureEnsure systems comply with NIST 800-53 and federal cybersecurity requirementsAssist in system upgrades, patch management, and environment optimization activitiesSupport enterprise applications hosted in secure government cloud environmentsParticipate in infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and operational support activitiesWork with cross-functional teams to improve cloud efficiency, reliability, and operational performanceRequired SkillsStrong understanding of cloud computing concepts and infrastructure managementKnowledge of AWS GovCloud and/or Microsoft Azure Government environmentsExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormationUnderstanding of cloud security, compliance, and cybersecurity best practicesFamiliarity with NIST 800-53 and federal cybersecurity standardsKnowledge of DevSecOps principles and deployment processesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesUnderstanding of system monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and cloud operationsAbility to manage secure cloud environments for government or enterprise systemsStrong analytical thinking and technical support skillsGood communication, collaboration, and documentation abilitiesAbility to work independently and within cross-functional technical teamsStrong attention to detail, system reliability, and operational efficiencyAbility to manage multiple priorities and technical tasks effectivelyPreferred SkillsExperience supporting federal, DHS, or DoD cloud environmentsFamiliarity with Moodle LMS hosting and managementSecurity+ CE certificationExposure to automation and cloud deployment toolsKnowledge of enterprise application support within cloud environmentsExperience with cloud scalability and infrastructure optimizationUnderstanding of secure government cloud operations and compliance frameworksFamiliarity with cloud monitoring and incident management toolsInterest in cloud innovation, cybersecurity, and secure infrastructure technologiesAdditional InformationCandidates should demonstrate strong technical ownership and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to adapt quickly to evolving cloud technologies and operational requirements is importantStrong focus on security, reliability, and compliance will be expectedCandidates should be comfortable working in structured and mission-driven environmentsExperience supporting government or regulated environments will be highly preferredStrong documentation and communication skills are important for operational successAbility to work collaboratively with engineering, cybersecurity, and operational teams is essentialEducationBachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university or institution.
