Pet Care Specialist
Are you an animal lover looking for growth and opportunity? We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with leadership qualities and at least 3 years of animal handling/ doggy daycare experience to join our dedicated team.
We are looking to fill our afternoon-evening shift : see schedule below.
This is a full time position (40 hours/week) with a 3 month probation period.
Please note we do background checks and ask for 2 referrals.
Posh Pet Club is a boutique daycare, boarding, grooming and training facilityfounded by the Founder and Lead Dog Trainer of Back to Basics Dog Training.
Looking for the following shifts :
3 Weekdays a week from 1:30pm-8pm
Saturday 8am -4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise large groups of pets
Proper animal restraint and understanding individual dog behavior and preference.
Assist in the cleaning of the facility and maintenance of inventory.
Preparing meals and activities
Client Service (cross trained for front desk duties)
Client education and relationship building with clients.
Medication preparation and administration
Assist grooming staff with bathing and handling if needed
Finding solutions to different challenges that may arise on a daily basis.
Managing and supervising the team in the absence of manager.
Training and mentoring new hires.
Work with management team to continuously improve procedures and services.
Requirements :
Take initiative and have excellent decision making skills.
A passion for dogs and animal care. Willingness to learn and understand animal behavior.

Honest, Reliable & trustworthy and punctual.

Outgoing, honest and detail oriented - A cheerful and positive attitude focused on teamwork.
Must be alert and sensitive to dogs’ needs and behavior at all times.
Ability to work in an environment where you will experience constant standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, cleaning, etc. for 6+ hours.
Preferably live in or near the city
Great communication skills with management, the Posh team and clients.
A genuine love and care for animals and people
Have a car, and able to board dogs in your home (big plus, but not necessary)

Able to ask questions and give feedback respectfully

Note : We welcome dogs of all sizes and ages. As a Handler you must be able to communicate with co-workers and employers about dogs and what you see. Example: dogs eating poop, throwing up, peeing in the cages, watching the demeanor of a dog if they look irritated, sick, or aggressive, etc. Communication is very important! Must not be afraid of dogs and have experience with working with dogs.

Experience:
Pet care: 3 years (Preferred)
Animal care: 3 years (Preferred)
Kennel experience: 3 years (Preferred)
Animal handling: 3 years (Preferred)
Service Industry : Preferred
Leadership experience : Preferred
