Reports To: Operations ManagerLocation: Torrance, CAEmployment Type: Full-timeShift: 1st ShiftRate: $21-$25/Hour - Experience Based*The Web Operator – Level 2 is responsible for operating and supporting Luminit's roll-to-roll (R2R) web replication equipment used in the production of optical films. This is a hands-on role focused on machine setup, operation, process monitoring, and basic troubleshooting to ensure consistent, high-quality output.This position works closely with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to maintain equipment performance, improve material yield, and support continuous manufacturing operations in a cleanroom environment.Web replication is a core manufacturing process at Luminit. The Web Operator plays a critical role in maintaining process stability, product quality, and production throughput. Strong machine operation directly impacts yield, scrap reduction, and overall manufacturing efficiency.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate roll-to-roll web replication equipment for productionMonitor machine performance and adjust parameters to maintain product quality and consistencyPerform in-process quality inspections, including visual inspection, adhesion testing, and optical angle measurementIdentify process deviations, document root causes of failures, and communicate findings to Manufacturing EngineeringSupport efforts to improve material quality, increase yield, and reduce scrapComplete production documentation, including production orders and process recordsPrioritize work orders and ensure required tooling and materials are availablePerform routine cleaning and support preventative maintenance activities according to scheduleAssist Maintenance with equipment servicing, including roller removal as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment, including proper use of PPERequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent3+ years of experience as a machine operator or manufacturing technicianMechanical aptitude and ability to operate and troubleshoot production equipmentBasic PC skills for data entry and documentationAbility to work in a team-based, fast-paced manufacturing environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to identify optical defects on semi-transparent materials (e.g., pinholes, scratches, pattern irregularities)Must be 18 years or olderAbility to pass a drug test and background checkPreferred QualificationsExperience with roll-to-roll (R2R), coating, or web-based manufacturing equipmentCleanroom manufacturing experienceExperience working with optical films or precision manufacturing processesWork EnvironmentCleanroom and manufacturing floor environmentRequired use of PPE, including Tyvek suit, gloves, hair net, and shoe coversStanding for extended periods and operating production equipmentEligibility RequirementU.S. citizenship or permanent residency requiredCompany DescriptionCompany DescriptionLuminit Inc. was founded on the belief that light can be shaped, directed, and controlled with greater efficiency through the power of holography.
