Senior Land Technician
Summary:Location: Concord, CADuration: 12 MonthsResponsibilities:Perform routine work as a member of a survey party; make precise survey measurements using conventional and state-of-the-art surveying instruments.Interpret legal descriptions of real property; make and interpret survey calculations; research, analyze, check, and adjust survey data.Research title and compile evidence and documentation for boundary determination; may be required to operate the survey vehicle.Prepare maps from field notes, office data, and title searches for condemnation proceedings, obtaining rights-of-way, purchasing land, obtaining government permits, and obtaining leases and other land documents.Plot plan profiles, road cross-sections, topography, contours, and special drawings; may be required to check mathematical computations of others.Assemble information for, and process, clear, and correct rights-of-way and land matters, including preparing legal descriptions of real property.Prepare all documents necessary for the acquisition and disposition of fee property and easements, including complicated and non-standard documents under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Land Agent.Process necessary forms for procuring permits; prepare and process quitclaims; secure signatures and permits; inspect property; preliminarily investigate encroachments; and prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence.Act as the lead person in performing the field work necessary to procure data for the preparation of right-of-way papers, permits, leases, and other land documents as required for distribution facilities.Coordinate the work of survey parties, conduct field survey work by running a survey party, operate survey equipment, take field notes, and direct the work of other members of the survey party.May perform the work of lower classifications.Requirements:Full qualifications of a Land Technician and demonstrated ability to perform the above duties as evidenced by the quality and quantity of the work product.Must pass an agreed-upon written examination testing the ability to perform the duties of a Senior Land Technician as assigned.Demonstrated ability to direct the activities of a survey crew and the physical ability to do field survey work.Preferred Skills:Land Surveyor In Training certificate - LSIT.Prior professional experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for land surveying or civil engineering purposes.Strong oral and written communication skills.
