Job Title: Duct InstallerJob DescriptionThe Duct Installer is responsible for leading and coordinating HVAC duct installation crews on commercial construction projects. This hands-on role focuses on productivity, quality, and safety while supporting day-to-day jobsite leadership, layout, and coordination with other trades.ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise HVAC duct installer crews on active commercial construction projects.Perform hands-on installation of HVAC ductwork, including rectangular, spiral, round sections, and associated fittings.Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications to plan and execute work accurately.Lay out duct runs, hangers, and supports according to plans and applicable standards.Coordinate daily work activities with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.Assign tasks to crew members, monitor productivity, and help keep projects on schedule.Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with applicable codes and regulations.Enforce jobsite safety policies and lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment.Assist with material planning and staging, and promptly report material shortages or issues.Troubleshoot field issues and adjust installations as needed to address site conditions.Operate lifts such as scissor and boom lifts, as well as basic power tools, to complete installation tasks.Support the setup and use of sheet metal fabrication equipment, such as press brakes, as needed for ductwork installation.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of experience installing commercial HVAC ductwork.Strong knowledge of duct installation methods, including proper use of hangers and supports.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.Ability to independently lay out duct runs, hangers, and supports based on plans.Experience leading crews or serving in a foreman or similar leadership capacity in the field.Comfort managing day-to-day jobsite operations in active commercial construction environments.Proficiency with HVAC duct systems, including rectangular, spiral, and round ductwork and fittings.Ability to operate lifts, including scissor and boom lifts, safely and effectively.Proficiency in using basic power tools commonly used in sheet metal and HVAC installation.Experience with sheet metal work and duct installation in new construction settings.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior lead or foreman experience in commercial HVAC duct installation is preferred.OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification is preferred.Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes, including the use of press brakes.Previous HVAC, duct, and plumbing work is beneficial.Experience reading and working from construction blueprints on commercial projects.Familiarity with construction site coordination and working alongside multiple trades.Why Work Here?This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity that allows you to demonstrate your skills on active commercial projects with the potential to transition into a long-term position.
