Upper School Boys/Girls Varsity Tennis Assistant Coach
UPPER SCHOOL: BOYS/GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS – ASSISTANT COACH
Pace Academy, an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Georgia, with an enrollment of 1,150 students in Pre-First through 12th grade, has an opening for 2024-2025 tennis season.
REPORTS TO: Varsity Tennis Coach & Director of Athletics
WORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS: A part-time, mid-January to early May season appointment. On/off-campus responsibilities include practices and matches for 2-3 hours during the week. All coaches are employed on an annual basis and continued employment is based on a season review conducted by the Director of Athletics/Varsity tennis head coach.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Working closely with the varsity tennis head coach, the assistant coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the tennis program, including possibly driving a minibus to matches. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is per the mission of Pace Academy;
A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept;
Coaching experience;
Effective leadership, coaching and recruiting skills;
Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and the athletic department;
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Encourage, train, and coach the participants of the tennis program (Grades 9-12);
Represent Pace Academy and the tennis program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship;
Additional duties as assigned by the head coach.
This is an exempt position that is paid a coaching stipend for the season.
