This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment including motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic presses, conveyors, piping, and valves to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-focused, and experienced in troubleshooting and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment and heavy industrial machinery including pumps, motors, presses, conveyors, piping, and valvesPerform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliabilityIdentify wear, leaks, and potential failure points before they become production issuesFollow and enforce all safety procedures, OSHA standards, lockout/tagout protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental regulationsSafely work around materials containing lead and other toxic chemicals while strictly following all safety proceduresDocument all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activity in the maintenance management systemAnalyze equipment failures and recommend process improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and safetySupport major repairs, equipment overhauls, shutdowns, and special projectsCollaborate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize production impact and maintain plant performanceQualifications3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance or heavy mechanical repair experienceStrong experience with motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, presses, piping, valves, and conveyorsAbility to read schematics, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagramsStrong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of lockout/tagout, machine guarding, hazardous material handling, and OSHA safety standardsHigh school diploma or GED requiredTechnical training, trade school, welding, machining, or OSHA certifications are a plusBasic computer skills for maintenance systems and documentationPhysical and Work EnvironmentAbility to work in a heavy industrial environment with heat, noise, dust, and chemical exposureMust be able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights or in confined spaces, and lift 50+ poundsMust be able to wear required PPE for extended periods including respirators, hard hats, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and steel-toe bootsMay work 12-hour shifts or rotating schedulesMust maintain constant safety awareness and follow all plant safety and environmental procedures
