ApplyJob TypePart-timeDescriptionJob SummaryThe Barback/ Club Host supports bar operations within Lagoon's private clubs by assisting bartenders, serving food and beverages, and helping create a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests. This position supports food and beverage sales by taking guest orders and operating Point of Sale (POS) systems while providing excellent guest service. The Barback/ Club Host plays an important role in maintaining efficient operations and an elevated guest experience. All duties are performed in accordance with Company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and creating a positive guest experience.Essential Functions of the JobSupport bartenders by restocking bar supplies including beverages, ice, glassware, garnishes, and other materialsPrepare and cook food according to recipes and plating guidesAssist with food and beverage service, including delivering items to guests in a timely and professional mannerServe as a host by greeting guests, assisting with seating, and helping maintain a welcoming club environmentVerify Guest ID's and ensuring age compliance according to Utah State laws and restrictions (no one under 21 years of age allowed; ID's required for every guest, regardless of age/appearance of age, etc.)Take guest orders and operate Point of Sale (POS) systems, credit card machines, and handle cash transactions accuratelyMaintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, dining areas, and guest seating areasAssist with bussing tables and resetting seating areas to maintain a clean and guest-ready environmentUse commercial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize glassware, dishes, and service itemsAssist with maintaining inventory levels and communicating restocking needs to bartenders or leadershipMaintain a clean and sanitary work environment by completing daily cleaning tasks before, during, and after operating hoursPerform routine cleaning duties including clearing/bussing tables, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning counters, emptying trash, and maintaining equipment and storage areasFollow all opening, operating, and closing procedures to ensure safe and efficient operationsComplete daily inspections and checklists accurately and honestly in accordance with Company proceduresCommunicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and guests to support smooth operationsRespond calmly and professionally to guest concerns or unusual situationsBe flexible and willing to rotate assignments based on business needsRequirementsRequired Qualifications/AbilitiesMust be at least 21 years of ageMust obtain and maintain a Utah On-Premises Alcohol Seller-Server Training LicenseMust obtain and maintain a Food Handler's PermitAbility to perform basic math calculations and accurately handle cash transactionsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detailAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamAbility to work in close proximity to guests, coworkers, and equipmentAbility to work with and around all types of food (including common allergens) and a variety of smellsMust be able to read and understand training materials, safety guidelines, and operational procedures, and follow verbal instructionsThis position requires availability to work a variable weekly schedule, zero to five days per weekThis position has variable hours shifts that may begin as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 12:00 AM (midnight). Weekly scheduled shifts may include morning shifts, midday shifts, and evening shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.Working ConditionsThis position requires working in a high stress environment that includes exposure to high noise levels, bright light and/or dim areas, large crowds and other factors typical to an amusement park setting.This position will perform essential job duties outdoors and be exposed to environmental elements including, but not limited to, extreme heat or cold, wind, dust, noise, rain, snow, smoke, and direct sunlight.This position will perform essential job duties indoors and be exposed to elements including, but not limited to, heat, humidity, noise from loud equipment, noise from overlapping voices, confusion, and various smells.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described below must be met to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities.Must be able to use fingers, hands, arms, and legs to reach, operate equipment, climb stairs, and handle food and beverage itemsAble to sit, stand, walk (at a specified pace), crouch, crawl, kneel, reach above the head or stoop for the duration of a shift up to eight (8) hoursAble to regularly lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds and up to fifty (50) pounds assistedAble to move equipment which would include pushing, pulling, bending, and liftingAble to walk quickly to and from job locations up to one (1) mile distanceMust have sufficient hearing and visual acuity to observe equipment, Lagoon guests, etc.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
