Maintenance Electrician

Purpose: The purpose of this role is to ensure all manufacturing machinery, equipment, and building electrical systems are operational to minimize downtime by performing various maintenance tasks. Primary Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to): Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate, ground, and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment in association with electrical repair. Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor starter circuits, control loops, high voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment. Install electrical conduit, pull, and terminate wiring. Work with Plant Engineer by meeting contractors and equipment manufacturers to design, plan, and coordinate projects. Create electrical supply lists, budget packages, and order materials for projects. Assist with the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and practices to improve infrastructure reliability, sustainability, and reduce operational costs. Train employees on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting. Provide mechanical and electrical information by answering questions and requests. Utilize the CMMS System by monitoring work orders and PM schedules and resolving them in the system. Order electrical parts, consumables, and tools, ensure they are delivered, inventoried, and organized in the Electrical Parts Room. Communicate with maintenance management on expenses and provide packaging slips and necessary receipts. Follow the Decontamination Program by properly deenergizing and isolating electrical in accordance with the Lock Out/Tag Out Program, disassembling/assembling equipment when necessary, and initiating and closing the Safe Work Packet Permit. Ensure the Maintenance Shop, Parts Room, Electrician Office, and Maintenance Breakroom are clean, organized, and presentable. Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors. Follow maintenance-related ISO 9001:2015 Policies and Procedures and ensure associated documentation is filled out correctly. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain all Electrical Rooms and ensure they are clean and locked. Responsible for all bonding and grounding on machinery and mechanical equipment. Stay up to date on all federal, state, and local electrical rules and guidelines. Install junction boxes, panels, switches, plugs, and light fixtures. Qualifications and Skills Required: Work Environment: Working around moving equipment. Exposure to fumes and airborne particles. High noise levels. Hot and cold conditions. Risk of electrical shock. Requirements: Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Preferred: Master or Journeyman/Apprentice License. Preferred: Vocational Training. Licenses/Certificates: Lock-Out/Tag-Out. Bonding & Grounding. Confined Space. Forklift. Aerial Lift. CPR (Optional). Experience: 2+ years of heavy industrial/commercial electrical maintenance experience. Basic knowledge of NEC, OSHA 10 or 30. Basic knowledge of AC/DC motor theory and PLC System troubleshooting experience. Basic knowledge of electrical PPE and Arc Flash Safety. Prior knowledge of electrical testing equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical manuals. Basic Computer Knowledge. Physical Demands: Walking. Climbing Ladders. Working within confined spaces.
