Senior SQL Application Developer (SQL, Crystal Reports, ETL)
MicroHealth is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Application Developer with strong expertise in SQL, database administration, Linux environments, database migration, and reporting solutions. This role provides advanced technical support for the program, serving as the principal technical resource responsible for enterprise database development, database administration, reporting modernization, production support, ETL development, and SQL Server operational maintenance supporting mission-critical healthcare reporting systems.The incumbent will develop, administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases while developing SQL solutions against IBM DB2 healthcare data sources supporting NPIRS and HSP reporting. This position requires expertise in both Windows and Linux database environments, with responsibilities including SQL programming, SQL Server Agent automation, Database Mail, SSRS report development, Crystal Reports modernization, SSIS package development, production database support, infrastructure monitoring, server maintenance, and enterprise reporting solutions.Key Responsibilities:Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases in both Windows and Linux environments supporting NPIRS production and development systemsMonitor SQL Server health, performance, storage utilization, and database availability across multiple platformsPerform routine server monitoring and daily operational health checksDevelop, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL Server Agent jobs, automated database processes, alerts, Database Mail notifications, and scheduled operational workflowsExecute scheduled SQL Server maintenance activities, including weekly server patching and maintenance windowsTroubleshoot SQL Server performance issues, database connectivity problems, and production incidentsMaintain database security, permissions, access controls, and ensure compliance with organizational standardsSupport disaster recovery readiness, high availability solutions, and coordinate infrastructure upgradesManage Linux-based database systems including shell scripting and system administrationDesign, develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and reusable database componentsDevelop and optimize advanced SQL solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 healthcare data sourcesDevelop cross-platform SQL solutions integrating SQL Server reporting environments with DB2 databasesTranslate complex healthcare reporting requirements and legacy report logic into validated SQL business rules, including exception handling, reconciliation, and data-quality controlsOptimize SQL code for performance and scalability across multiple database platformsCreate validation scripts and resolve database-related defectsImplement data models and database structures according to best practicesDesign, develop, modify, validate, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reportsLead modernization efforts by converting SAP Crystal Reports to SSRS while maintaining functionalityTranslate legacy Crystal Reports business logic into validated SSRS solutions while preserving business rules and report functionalityInterpret healthcare reporting requirements and convert them into validated SQL datasets, report parameters, reconciliation logic, exception processing, and data-quality controlsDevelop and maintain standardized reporting templatesPerform report validation, peer reviews, and maintain SDLC documentationDevelop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize SSIS packages supporting enterprise reporting and healthcare data integrationSupport automated processing, scheduled data loads, ETL workflows, and validationSupport data integration initiatives across multiple systems and platformsPerform database migrations and conversions between platforms with minimal downtimeMigrate databases Technology, or related fieldMinimum 10 years of experience with SQL database development and administrationAdvanced SQL programming skills with demonstrated experience optimizing complex queriesStrong Linux administration experience, including shell scripting and system managementProven experience migrating databases and reports between different platformsDemonstrated experience with Linux The incumbent provides technical leadership in translating healthcare reporting requirements into validated SQL business rules supporting mission-critical NPIRS reporting systems.This position directly supports the availability, reliability, accuracy, and performance of NPIRS reporting systems.
