Lapping Machine OperatorSun Hydraulics 701 - Sarasota, FL 34243Job Summary:The Lapping Operator is responsible for running manual machines while helping to enhance the productivity of the organizations machining efforts. This position will also be responsible for performing quality checks and monitoring machine output each hour. This is a standing and constantly moving role. Keeping a fast pace is critical to your success in this position.Duties/Responsibilities:Reading schematics, drawings, blueprints, and work orders in a production setting running either manual or automated machinesCompleting work in a timely manner while moving components/parts to the next stage in the production processPerform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on production partsFollowing process procedures maintaining high quality of production parts while driving to improve individual output numbersFollow all company safety protocolInspect the work area and machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shiftRequired Skills/Abilities:Attention to detail while working with small componentsAbility to perform moderate math workAbility to work in team or individually as neededAbility to meet commitments by operating finishing machineryEducation and Experience:High school diploma or GED preferredPrecision Machining Certification from a technical college is a plusCar maintenance experience is a plusManufacturing experience is a plusPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift 50 poundsAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time
