Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

Title: Sr Quality Assurance AnalystLocation: Tempe, AZ - HybridType: Long-Term Contract starting ASAPCompensation: $46-53/hrAs a Sr Quality Assurance Analyst, you’ll support a large-scale data governance and analytics initiative focused on modernizing reporting capabilities, improving data quality practices, and strengthening enterprise analytics operations. A major focus of the role will be supporting the retirement of legacy SSRS reports and validating their migration into Power BI and other modern reporting platforms. The position combines manual quality assurance, backend data validation, and test automation efforts to help ensure reliable reporting and analytics solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making.Your Role Execute functional and regression testing activities for analytics and reporting applications to confirm alignment with business and technical requirements. Perform backend data validation using complex SQL queries to verify data accuracy, integrity, and business rule implementation. Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and testing strategies across multiple project phases. Transition manual testing processes into scalable automated test scenarios and scripts over time. Support testing efforts for reporting and business intelligence platforms, including Power BI and related analytics tools. Identify, document, track, and validate resolution of software defects throughout the development lifecycle. Prepare and manage test data required to validate system functionality and reporting outputs. Partner with developers, analysts, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and maintain quality standards. Participate in Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives. Coordinate and support user acceptance testing activities with business users and project stakeholders. Contribute to modernization efforts involving reporting migrations, analytics enhancements, and operational support initiatives. Assist with API and automation testing activities to improve overall testing efficiency and coverage.What You’ve Got At least 3 years of experience in software quality assurance or application testing environments. Strong SQL expertise with experience writing complex queries for backend validation and data testing. Experience testing business intelligence or reporting platforms such as Power BI. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate and resolve data and application issues. High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities. Working knowledge of QA methodologies, testing processes, and software development lifecycle practices. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in collaborative team settings. Experience working within Agile or Scrum-based delivery environments. Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar work management tools. Exposure to Snowflake or comparable cloud-based data platforms.
