Must have ability to set up welding machines with minimal to no supervision or guidance.Must be capable and have extensive working knowledge of material properties, methods and basic set-up and verification, adjustment, and operation of the welding equipment and hand tools.Must be able to read blueprints or work instructions, set-up of jigs and fixtures, comprehend the associated welding symbols and welding sequence.*Must have working knowledge and ability to safely use a variety of hand and power toolsMust have ability to work in a safe manner compliant with all Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelinesAbility to weld different types of materials (e.g. carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium) and pass applicable welder evaluation Level A tests.Effectively communicate with customers, Engineering Department and the Quality Department discussing design changes or material changesMust be adaptable - accepting different work assignments - maintain a clean working environmentThe ability to train and oversee less experience welders to achieve all company and customer requirements.Assist in new process development and troubleshooting of products.The ability to utilize digital technology in day to day work responsibilitiesAbility to obtain or has external certifications AWS/ANST or equivalentAbility to inspect arc or spot welded weldments per the appropriate acceptance criteria and perform dimensional measurements to ensure conformance with specification.*Demonstrated working knowledge in other welding processes such as SMAW & FCAW.Demonstrated knowledge and application of post weld finishing Technology & Tools (Graining SS/passivation/straightening)Acceptable hand/eye coordination and ability to pass visual acuity testWorking knowledge of non-destructive testing (e.g. dye-penetrant, magnetic particle) or equivalent certificationAny and all other responsibilities, in addition to those mentioned above, as assigned by supervisor/manager. Any interpretation/clarification with responsibilities above will be settled by the supervisor/manager.
