This role is responsible for overseeing and performing land surveying activities, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and delivering accurate, high-quality survey data to support residential and commercial construction projects.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound professional judgment, and the ability to lead field and office survey efforts while maintaining ARCXIS's commitment to quality and service.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform and oversee boundary, topographic, and construction surveys in accordance with Minnesota statutes and standardsPrepare, review, and certify survey documents, including plats, legal descriptions, and ALTA/NSPS surveysInterpret and analyze survey data, title reports, construction plans, and legal documentsEnsure accuracy and completeness of field data collection and survey deliverablesSign and seal survey documents as required by state regulationsCoordinate with internal teams, including engineering, permitting, and inspection servicesCommunicate with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies as neededEnsure all survey work complies with applicable laws, codes, and company standardsSupport project timelines, budgets, and deliverablesAdditional Duties and Responsibilities Include the FollowingProvide technical guidance and mentorship to survey field crews and techniciansReview field notes, calculations, and survey data for quality assuranceAssist in resolving boundary discrepancies and field-related issuesSupport business development efforts through client interaction and technical expertiseMaintain knowledge of current industry standards, technologies, and regulatory changesPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsEducation / Experience / Desired QualificationsActive Minnesota Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license requiredBachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferredMinimum 5+ years of surveying experience, including boundary and construction surveysStrong knowledge of Minnesota surveying laws, standards, and practicesExperience with survey software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble, etc.)Ability to interpret legal descriptions, plats, and construction documentsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and client-facing abilitiesWork Environment* Combination of office and field work* Exposure to outdoor conditions including varying weather, terrain, and construction sitesPhysical DemandsAbility to stand, walk, and traverse uneven terrainAbility to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbsAbility to operate survey equipment and tools in field environmentsTravel* Local and regional travel within Minnesota as neededBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insurance
