Fehn Companies is dedicated to a culture of safety and operates under the company's core values while completing projects for clients in the community.Position DescriptionA Foreman is responsible for overseeing, performing, and coordinating the execution of earthwork activities on construction sites, such as trucking, excavation, demolition, grading, and other site preparation tasks. They manage the crew, equipment, and materials, ensuring the project is completed in a safe and efficient manner, on schedule, within budget, and meets all quality standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Supervision & Crew ManagementAssigning daily tasks to operators, laborers, and other crew membersMonitoring performance to ensure work meets quality, safety and productivity standardsCoaching or correcting crew members as neededConducting safety briefings and toolbox talksProject CoordinationReviewing project plans, blueprints, or job specs to plan workCoordinating and operating the use of heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dozers, etc.)Communicating with project managers, engineers, and subcontractorsAdjusting schedules or tasks due to weather, delays, or equipment issuesEquipment OversightEnsuring proper operation and maintenance of heavy equipmentScheduling regular inspections and reporting issues to mechanics or fleet managersMaking sure only trained and authorized personnel operate equipmentVerifying that machinery is used efficiently and safely on the job siteMaterial & Resource ManagementTracking inventory of materials (gravel, concrete, rebar, etc.)Coordinating deliveries and storage of construction materialsMinimizing waste and managing resources efficientlyDocumentation & ReportingCompleting daily field reports, timesheets, and equipment logsDocumenting work progress, delays, incidents, and inspectionsCommunicating updates to project managers or clientsCompensation begins at $44.67 per hour and increases according to the individual's experience level.Position RequirementsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
