The Director of IT & Systems is responsible for leading and optimizing the organization’s overall technology environment, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. This role manages a small internal IT team, partners closely with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) for infrastructure and security, and supports system integrations across key business functions including supply chain, finance, e-commerce, and commercial operations. Reporting to the CFO, this position owns the IT roadmap and ensures technology supports efficiency, cost management, brand growth, and scalability.Core ResponsibilitiesSystems Architecture & Integration:Collaborate with MSPs and vendors to design and maintain a scalable technology architecture aligned with business goalsOversee data integrations and workflows across systems such as orders, inventory, finance, and analyticsMaintain comprehensive documentation of systems, data flows, and dependenciesConduct regular audits to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and security risksTechnology Strategy & Platform Management:Develop and execute an IT roadmap aligned with company priorities and growth targetsEvaluate, implement, and optimize technology platforms while retiring outdated toolsManage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure cost-effectivenessAdvise executive leadership on technology decisions and strategyIT Operations, Infrastructure & Security:Oversee infrastructure management through the MSP, including networks, servers, backups, and securityEnsure proper access controls, data privacy compliance (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA), and governance standardsMaintain data integrity and establish best practices for documentation and ownershipProvide support for critical technical issues and ensure continuity of knowledgeAI Strategy, Automation & Intelligence:Define and implement an AI and automation strategy to improve efficiency and scalabilityEvaluate emerging tools and technologies for potential business applicationsEstablish governance for ethical and secure use of AI in partnership with cross-functional teamsLead initiatives leveraging AI for forecasting, personalization, fraud detection, and operational optimizationCross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with Sales and Marketing on e-commerce platforms and B2B initiativesWork with supply chain teams on ERP systems and logistics technologiesSupport marketing technology and collaborate with Finance on reporting and analytics infrastructureQualificationsRequired Skills & Experience:5–7 years of experience in IT leadership, systems administration, or related roles; MSP collaboration preferredExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP), CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), e-commerce (e.g., Shopify Plus), and marketing automation toolsStrong knowledge of systems integration, including APIs, middleware, and iPaaS solutionsBackground in data architecture, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools (ex.
