Work is performed onsite in Tallahassee, Florida. Employment is contingent upon contract award.* *Below are some of the responsibilities the Solution Architect may be expected to assume in their position:* * Lead the technical requirements and architecture stream for the modernization of a statewide Oracle based records system * Document data and interface changes covering system inputs and outputs, data structures, and communication pathways * Produce a technical transition workplan aligning electronic data transfer to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration published Information Exchange Package Documentation rules and standards * Author development and modification requirements for the future state solution, including goals, technical specifications, required changes, and impacts * Evaluate and recommend hosting strategies across on premises, private cloud, and hybrid models * Define the development, testing, and production strategy for building, validating, and deploying updates * Produce upgrade recommendations and requirements for internal system integrations and for external data exchanges with partner agencies, federal reporting systems, and third party providers * Design the comprehensive data security solution, defining protection baselines, controls, and actionable mitigation strategies * Design secured data transfer requirements covering data integrity, data loss prevention, and access control * Produce the comprehensive system testing plan and the backup and disaster recovery plan * Author the finalized system design with proposed budget milestones and recommendations * Develop at least three redesign options evaluated on cost, hosting, ease of maintenance, and configuration, each with budget milestones * Contribute cost and level of effort estimates supporting funding justification for continued operations *The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.* * *Must currently reside in the US.* * *Must be available to work onsite in Tallahassee, Florida.* * *Must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check.* * *Must be able to sign and comply with a customer non-disclosure agreement.* * *Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology major (Or equivalent work experience)* * *Minimum of 10 or more years of technical experience, including 5 or more years in a solution or enterprise architecture role* * Demonstrated experience architecting the modernization of legacy systems built on Oracle and Java * Experience producing hosting strategy, infrastructure, and deployment recommendations * Experience designing system integrations and application programming interfaces across organizational boundaries * Experience authoring security architecture and secured data transfer designs * Experience producing system testing plans and backup and disaster recovery plans * Ability to develop and defend multiple design options with associated cost and maintainability tradeoffs * Strong technical writing ability, since the deliverables of this role are documents rather than code * Ability to verify that software and its documentation is compliant with applicable requirements functionally. * Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and listening. * Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. * Demonstrated ability to form positive working relationships with customers, peers, and team members. * Proficient in MS Office applications. *Preferred Skills/Experience: The experience listed below are preferred for this job* * Experience with Oracle Database 19c and Oracle Exadata infrastructure * Experience with Java, XML, and shell scripting in a production environment * Experience with National Information Exchange Model or Information Exchange Package Documentation based data exchange * Knowledge of CJIS Security Policy and NIST security frameworks * Familiarity with Florida Administrative Code Rule 60GG-2 * Industry Certifications (eg AWS, Azure, Security+) * Knowledge and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) * Experience with state or federal traffic records, motor vehicle, or public safety systems *GeekSI now covers 100 percent employer contribution toward health insurance premiums for employees and 50 percent for dependents.* GeekSI provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, sex, age, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, citizenship status, disability, veteran or any other legally protected status.
