Diesel Technician/Mechanic - Starting Pay Based on Experience

We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic for our Natchitoches, LA Terminal. Job Type: Full-time Work Schedule: Monday through Friday Job Description Diagnose potential vehicle and equipment malfunctions Perform necessary repairs to vehicles and equipment Determine needed repairs and/or replacements of vehicles and equipment Execute preventative maintenance programs as well as safety inspections for vehicles and equipment Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary Maintain tools, equipment, and shop area Adhere to Ecco Ride standards, policies, and procedures Prepare documentation regarding information to comply with regulatory guidelines, vehicle and equipment systems/components repairs, etc. Inspect vehicles using standard guidelines and ensure conformance to Louisiana Highway Patrol standards. Always a focus on safety Perform other responsibilities as requested or required Educational/Experience Qualifications 2+ years of automotive or diesel repair experience required Appropriate mechanic’s toolset ASE Certification preferred Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Valid Driver’s License; having a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred Basic computer skills Must be able to pass Pre-Job requirements including pre-employment drug screen and background check Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Needed The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools Good verbal and written communication skills The ability to work well as part of a team and independently Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job Physical Requirements: · Climb and descend the bus steps 3 times within 30 seconds. · Starting in a seated position, quickly exit oneself from an emergency door within 20 seconds. · Carry or drag a 125 pound bag 30 feet in 30 seconds · Repeatedly open and close a manually operated bus entrance door, operate hand controls simultaneously and quickly, have quick reaction time from throttle to brake, repeatedly depress clutch and/or brake petals Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Referral program Vision insurance Work Location: In person
