The program is taught fully online.Job DutiesThe CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program at East Carolina University is seeking a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty member at the assistant level, starting in the 2026-2027 academic year, preferably August 2026. The program is located in the Department of Interdisciplinary Professions in the College of Education.Responsibilities of this position include teaching various graduate-level courses in Counselor Education, overseeing supervision of practicum and internship experiences, maintaining robust scholarly productivity, as well as collaborating with faculty colleagues on curriculum development, advising, recruitment, and admissions activities. Potential program services roles may include leading residency planning and coordination, clinical experience coordination, or other roles contingent upon program needs.The MS in Counselor Education at East Carolina University includes CACREP accredited specializations in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Student Affairs and College Counseling. Faculty members teach across all three specializations. Faculty are expected to teach online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. Although courses are taught online, faculty maintain an on-campus presence and are not considered DE.Regional transformation through service, teaching and scholarship is a critical focus for the University and the Counselor Education program. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Demonstrated history of research, teaching, and service.License Or Certification Required By Statute Or RegulationLicensed or eligible for license In North Carolina as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor or School Counselor.Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Certified as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and/or as a National Certified School Counselor (NCSC) (2) Online teaching experience in graduate courses in Counselor Education. (3) Experience with clinical supervision. (4) Experience pursuing funding for research and scholarly activities. (5) Experience teaching and/or advising graduate level counselor education students. (6) Demonstrated history of community engagement. (7) Familiarity with CACREP standards and program assessment.
