Tray Machine Operator - 3rd Shift (5 Day/8 Hour)

These include:Trustworthy We strive for our actions to match our words in all our relationships.Servant-Hearted We enable and empower our team to serve the needs of customers, team members, suppliers, and the community.Relational We aim to build healthy relationships while fostering an environment that promotes compassion, balance, and personal and professional growth.Resourceful We value strategic insourcing, first looking to create solutions internally, and then looking to apply that knowledge to future opportunities.Primary Responsibility:Responsibility of the machine(s) to ensure that quality products are achieved at a consistent rate of speed in accordance with machine standards and ensure all safety procedures are followed.Secondary Responsibilities:Sets up machine in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program, maintain the procedures with regard to proper set up unless the training is changed and properly recorded with regard to procedureFollows all checklist procedures fullyKeeps all parts in their proper place and recommend replacement or repair of worn parts by filling out the designated formObserves safety procedures at all timesOperates tray machines as directed to meet production requirementsResponsible for all equipment, tools assigned, and notify the supervisor of any additional tools or equipment that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operationFollows all instructions issued on the work jacket and advise the supervisor of any incorrect or non-recorded information that is necessary for proper set-up and operationAdjusts to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operationKeeps all necessary supplies available to the operator to ensure an efficient operationResponsible for the quality of the product, packaging, labeling, and stockingResponsible for the quality of product manufactured concerning correct viscosity, color, shading, contrast, straining, and ink usedSees that pallet loads are accurately counted, tagged, and entered to the production reportFollows the stacking arrangement, number of layers, and height requirement for each case size from the Pallet Stacking ManualOnce a pallet is full, calls the stock puller on the paging system to move the palletWhen the pallet is moved, places a new pallet down by the machineCalculates scrap rate to assure job stays within allowable limitsCommunicates well with other team membersWears appropriate PPE for the task and the areaWelcomes updates and improvements to processes and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operationPerforms work in a manner that keeps downtime to a minimumMaintains a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systemsFollows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditionsMay be asked to help with duties in other areas or departmentsA Tray Operator-Level 2 should be able to do set-ups without help and should be running the machine at or near the 110% efficiency level.Qualifications:Education and/or Experience: Experience operating a tray machine, preferably in a folding carton environment. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software. Must have mechanical ability and skills.Language Skills: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
