It’s The Iron Bow Way. THE HIGH LEVELIron Bow Technologies is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support an existing, long-time Federal Government customer. You will be part of a team providing support for our customers’ systems, including monitoring, updating and troubleshooting with our goal of ensuring customer's networking infrastructure is secure and aligns with customer requirements and maintaining five-9 system availability. As the Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, security, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. This role requires a strong technical foundation, experience operating in secure environments, and the ability to support high-availability systems. This position requires onsite work at the client’s site in Washington, DC. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGOur Network Engineer will be part of a dynamic team of engineers who collectively ensure the IT infrastructure is available 24x7x365. Responsibilities include:Teamwide communication and collaboration – remaining proactive and keeping program leadership and team members informed and aware of current efforts and timeframe commitmentsDesign, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, routing, switching)Support secure and classified network environmentsTroubleshoot complex network performance and connectivity issuesImplement security best practices aligned with federal standardsSupport virtualization and cloud integration efforts (M365, hybrid cloud environments)Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating proceduresCoordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security controlsProvide Tier III escalation support and participate in on-call rotations as requiredWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLEA strong documented experience of network engineering with a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience working within prem and cloud IaaS servicesStrong collaboration working between applications and infrastructure teams, providing primary and backup support as needed on various projects as well as proactively keeping information communicated to team members and program leadership.You hold a deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and subnettingYou have designed networks with security-first architectureYou have hands-on experience with enterprise networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)You have a strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network security best practicesYou have experience and knowledge of cloud networking (Azure, AWS, M365 environments) to help advance the program technical maturityProficiency in troubleshooting complex Layer 1–7 issuesCertification requirements: M365E/X or VCP or CCNP or LPIC or Linux+You are a US citizen with an active TS clearance – an active TS/SCI clearance is preferredYou hold a B.S. in Information Technology or a closely related field TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThere are no travel requirements outside the DC metro area.WHY YOU’LL LOVE ITYou want to be part of a dynamic team implementing modern, cutting-edge technologies.You are motivated to play a critical role in helping our client advance and mature their technical capabilities.Iron Bow is rapidly growing and with growth comes opportunity for all.
