Senior Supply Chain SpecialistLocation: Pittsburgh, PA (on-site)Our client is a well-established specialty manufacturing company in the Pittsburgh area seeking a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to support purchasing and broader supply chain operations. This role will be a key contributor to daily execution while also supporting longer-term supply chain effectiveness, supplier performance, and inventory management.This is a strong opportunity for a supply chain professional who brings well-rounded experience across purchasing, sourcing, and material planning and enjoys working closely with manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute and manage purchasing activities for raw materials, components, and indirect spend supporting manufacturingMaintain and develop relationships with suppliers and vendors, including pricing discussions, lead time management, and performance trackingPartner with production, operations, and engineering to ensure material availability aligns with manufacturing schedulesMonitor inventory levels and demand patterns to support inventory optimization and cost control initiativesIdentify and address supply chain risks, including supplier constraints, shortages, and delivery issuesSupport continuous improvement efforts related to procurement processes, inventory turns, and supplier performanceUtilize ERP/MRP systems and data analysis to support forecasting, purchasing decisions, and reportingRequired ExperienceBackground in supply chain, purchasing, or procurement within a manufacturing environmentWell-rounded understanding of end-to-end supply chain functions, beyond transactional buyingExperience working cross-functionally with operations, production, and engineering teamsComfortable managing multiple priorities in a specialty or engineered products manufacturing settingStrong communication and supplier management skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in specialty, custom, or low- to mid-volume manufacturingHands-on exposure to ERP/MRP systems in a production-driven environmentAbility to balance day-to-day execution with process improvement and strategic supportWhy Consider This OpportunityStable specialty manufacturer with a strong operational footprintVisible role with influence across supply chain and operationsCompetitive compensation and benefits packageLong-term growth opportunities within supply chain and operations
