Welder's Helper

MRR Welding & Contracting Services is looking to hire a Welder's Helper to work in Malvern, AR. MRR is a contractor through Martin Marietta and requires all of it's employees to follow Martin Marietta Guidelines for safety along with MSHA.Responsibilities·        Use air-chisel to break way rust from railcar doors and openings·        Use tools to open railcar doors (hammers and crowbars)·        Shovel out rock/gravel of railcars·        Buff rust from working surfaces of interior of railcar in preparation for the welder to work·        Use buffing wheel and grinder to polish railcar doors and openings, along with any surface of railcar where welder’s welds penetrated and rust could occur in preparation for painting·        Paint the railcar doors and openings, along with any surface of railcar where welder’s welds penetrate and rust could occur·        Replace mandatory railcar stickers such as reflective strips and brake information stickers·        Perform any other duties assigned by welder·        Maintain safety expectations according to MSHA, state, federal, and Martin Marieta’s Guardian Angel Safety culture practices. If the individual would like to learn welding skills or has prior MIG Welding experience, they will be able to begin welding duties after a 3 month probationary period. QualificationsHS diploma or GEDRead/Write EnglishWelding experience preferred but not required.Mine (surface metal/non-metal) preferred but not requiredMSHA training will be required to be completed prior to the first day of work. Training is on a Saturday prior the first day of work and is non-negotiable. If training is not completed, the individual may not begin work.
