The Antech business consists in multiple product / service lines across the diagnostics spectrum, including lab services (e.g. Reference Lab in chemistry, hematology, anatomic pathology), medical devices (i.e. point of care diagnostics and imaging equipment), and tele-health service (i.e., radiology), and AI services (i.e., Rapid Read).Given our industry (one of the most regulated in the Mars portfolio), business and environmental context are highly matrixed, globally diverse covering NA, EU/APAC (rapidly growing markets), we are seeking a candidate who can work in complexity and high-pace of change.We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Associate General Counsel to serve as a key legal advisor to the President and the senior leadership team. This role will sit on the Global SDx LT and expected to not only contribute to functional matters but enterprise business strategy and goals.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of legal matters across our global operations, providing expert counsel to in all legal matters, including regulatory responsibilities in pharmacy, animal health, diagnostics service, and broadly health science matters. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced, global and matrixed environment.The Target Pay Range for this position is $305,000-$382,000 annually. At SDx/Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPeople Leadership: This role will manage a direct team of 4 legal professionals, including being responsible for hiring, managing, and mentoringManage legal team to support the business operations to provide accurate and comprehensive legal advice and recommendationsProvides legal counsel to senior leadership of the Company, on all matters that affect the Company, including providing risk assessment and guidanceManages material litigation and other disputesSupports corporate governance and regulatory and compliance matters for the Company.Responsible for the selection, retention, management, evaluation, and optimization of all outside legal counselParticipates in the development, review and/or implementation of company-wide policies and proceduresMaintains awareness of current and applicable developments in the legal and regulatory landscape; continually reviewing and analyzing legal risks, opportunities and trends that could impact company's businessLeads negotiation and drafting of material contracts, including acquisition, investment, manufacturing, license, development, purchasing, logistics, consulting, and other agreementsEnsures the production of accurate and well documented research, analysis and recommendations for legal and regulatory issues and inquiries made by managementSupports management and operations teams with wide-ranging initiatives, including strategic partnership and merger and acquisition activitiesHigh collaboration with various functions, management and Associates f to address wide ranging issues to support business operationsGlobal Experience: Proven experience providing legal counsel in a global business environment, with a strong understanding of international legal and regulatory issuesEducation and ExperienceJuris Doctorate from an accredited law schoolLicensed to practice law in California or New YorkA minimum of 10-15 years of proven legal experience in both law firms and in-house settingsBroad knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, litigation, and intellectual propertyKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent legal and business judgment, strategic thinking, and ability to manage multiple matters, with a willingness and curiosity to learn areas outside of expertiseAbility to dissect and clearly communicate complex legal topics in a simple, actionable mannerDetail-oriented and organized leader, with unrivaled ethics, integrity, and ability to prioritize effectively to accommodate tight deadlines in a dynamic start-up environmentExcellent interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships across the company by collaborating with cross-functional teamsThe ability to achieve mutually satisfying agreements in negotiations with others by listening to their objectives, acting as the company's representative to effectively communicate the company's objective, and seeking common ground and collaborative solutionsThe skill to influence others, develop and maintain working relationships, and deliver results and/or expertise for a client in a professional mannerManage multiple high-priority assignments simultaneously and performs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to ensure that schedule, scope of work, quality, deadlines and other organizational needs are metProfessional demeanor and ability to work independently and as part of a teamMust be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet applicationsTravel: Up to 25% of time in various locationsAbout AntechAntech is a leader in veterinary diagnostics, driven by our passion for innovation that delivers better animal health outcomes.
