About this Organization:
The Nichols House Museum preserves and interprets the 1804 Bulfinch townhouse that was home to the garden designer, writer, and social reformer Rose Standish Nichols and her family. Since 1961, the Nichols House Museum has been open to the public as a historic house museum reflecting the domestic life of Beacon Hill at the turn of the last century. The collection includes European and American decorative arts from the seventeenth through twentieth centuries, family portraits, Flemish tapestries, Japanese woodblock prints, and works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. An AAM accredited institution, the museum educates and inspires the public through innovative programs, and it continues the conversation on the social concerns embraced by the Nichols family that remain relevant today.
The Nichols House Museum welcomes all visitors to an active schedule of tours, lectures, programs, and special events.
