Technical Solutions Engineer

Job Description: Serve as the Technical Solution Lead for the Ford Energy sales team and our customersTranslate complex customer requirements into optimized BESS configurationsDrive commercial accountability through technical financial modelingOversee system sizing, guide performance modeling, and coordinate technical documentation and certificationEnsure all technical solutions are "bankable," safety-compliant, and commercially viableLead the technical scoping and configuration of BESS projectsServe as the primary technical lead for project configurations before they move to final proposalProvide deep technical expertise on regional grid requirements and interconnection standards for major energy markets (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO)Act as the SME during customer meetings, delivering presentations highlighting Ford Energy's competitive advantagesSupport the development of technical documentation and certification planning to ensure market access and customer confidenceRequirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field5+ years of experience in technical solutions, applications engineering, systems engineering, or project engineering within the energy sectorDemonstrated experience in technical contract negotiation and financial modeling for large-scale energy projectsStrong understanding of power systems, batteries, and battery management systemsAbility to communicate effectively with executive leaders, technical teams, and customers.Direct experience with stationary Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and familiarity with UL 9540A and NFPA 855 standards (even better)Working knowledge of wholesale electricity markets and grid operations (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO, PJM) (even better)Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (even better)Experience with high-voltage safety standards and industrial control protocols (even better)Proven ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment within a larger corporate structure (even better)Solution-oriented leader who can balance technical rigor with commercial urgency (even better)Strategic thinker capable of translating complex customer needs into "bankable" technical configurations (even better)Strong communicator able to bridge the gap between technical engineering requirements and operational customer needs (even better)Benefits: Competitive compensation package including performance-based bonusesFord vehicle discountsOpportunity to shape the energy strategy of an iconic brand
