Assistant Controller

We hold our staff and each other to the highest standards!Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including preparation and review of the Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by the Staff and Senior Accountants.Manage the close calendar and ensure all deadlines are met across the accounting team.Ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting methods per regulatory requirements.Process and reconcile commission and bonus payroll, including related journal entries and reporting.Assist in maintaining GL structure and integrity within Sage Intacct.Assist in configuring the central accounting system, data migration, and testing.Assist in researching and implementing new accounting standards, disclosure requirements, and reporting standards.Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.Support due diligence and integration of acquired businesses in coordination with FP&A.Support external audit compliance and assist in responding to audit requests.Collaborate with other departments, providing service-oriented support.Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.Identify and assist with business process enhancements. Qualifications and Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting required.Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and month-end/year-end close.Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.Leadership skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.Professional written and verbal communication skills across multiple levels and departments.CPA or CPA candidate a plus.Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.EEO StatementAt Platte River Services and our operating subsidiaries, employees and applicants are evaluated based on their qualifications, skills, and ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
