This role reports directly to the VP of Product Quality and Intellectual Property and plays a key part in making sure our toys meet ASTM F963, CPSIA, and internal safety and quality standards.As Quality Engineer, you’ll work hands-on with product samples, lab testing, packaging reviews, and production evaluations. You'll be involved throughout the product development lifecycle - from initial design reviews to final sign-offs - helping ensure that every toy we ship is safe, compliant, and awesome.ResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll DoConduct detailed product and packaging reviews for compliance with U.S. toy safety regulations.Apply ASTM F963, CPSIA, and FHSA requirements to evaluate toys for small parts, magnets, chemicals, and other hazards.Prepare sample evaluation reports, risk assessments, and internal QA documentation.Coordinate third-party testing with global labs and assist in resolving non-compliant results.Support packaging and labeling reviews to ensure correct warning placement and phrasing.Participate in factory inspections and post-market complaint investigations.Assist the Quality Manager with CAPAs, internal audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects.Communicate with cross-functional teams (design, sourcing, compliance) and vendors to ensure quality goals are met.What You Bring1–3 years of experience in consumer product quality, toy safety, or testing coordination.Familiarity with U.S. toy regulations (ASTM F963, CPSIA, small parts rules, chemical warnings).Solid understanding of product testing, sample review, or regulatory compliance workflows.Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and a solution-oriented mindset.Comfortable working with Excel, lab reports, inspection forms, and spec sheets.Strong communication and teamwork skills — you’ll collaborate across departments and time zones.EducationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Product Safety, Industrial Design, or a related fieldEquivalent hands-on experience in toy QA or consumer goods safety will also be consideredWhy Join RMS?We’re a global toy company with deep roots in innovation, compliance, and creativity.
