Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology (Surgical)

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology (Surgical) Location: Dallas, TX 75001 Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension) Shift: Days or Nights, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week Block schedule available – any 3 consecutive days upon request. General Description: Under general supervision, the RN provides nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex. Essential Responsibilities:Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patientsDocument patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, including changes in physician ordersAssist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures or treatmentsObtain and monitor physiological data and observe patient conditions, intervening when necessaryAdminister medications as prescribedInitiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood productsDeliver patient care competently and safelyCommunicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at dischargeEducate patients and families on hospital proceduresRefer patient care needs to appropriate personnelDelegate tasks to support staff when appropriate General Responsibilities:Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills & Experience:Minimum 1 year of RN Oncology /Medsurg oncology experience in a hospital experience.Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and proceduresAbility to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing servicesStrong verbal and written communication skills Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS from AHA and ONS/ONCC Certification.RN Oklahoma state license/ Multistate license.
