Structural Project Engineer - Columbus, OH – JOB26-00272 Salary Range: $100k – $120k Full-time Permanent with BenefitsA premier Columbus-based mechanical design/build firm seeks a skilled Structural Project Engineer. In this role you will lead the structural design of complex industrial equipment used in air pollution control, including furnaces, boilers, incinerators, and pressure processing systems such as autoclaves. You must balance high-level structural analysis with team management, ensuring every platform, support structure, and vessel meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency.Core ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Manage and mentor 2–3 direct reports, including Junior Structural Engineers and Civil/Structural Designers.Project Management: Plan and execute project workflows to meet all technical, budget, and schedule requirements.Engineering Design: Produce complex engineering calculations and sketches for support structures, access platforms, ductwork, vessels, and industrial buildings.Cross-Discipline Coordination: Work closely with in-house Mechanical and Electrical engineering teams to create seamless, integrated system designs.Technical Documentation: Develop equipment layouts, produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and approve all technical drawings before issuance.Subcontractor Management: Write scopes of work, evaluate bids, and manage outside engineering consultants to ensure compliance with project requirements.Procurement Support: Prepare purchase specifications for specialized equipment such as prefab buildings, rotary valves, and conveyors.Field Support: Respond to RFIs from fabricators and contractors and lead internal/external design reviews.Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 8–10 years of relevant structural engineering experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Licensure: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one state, with the ability to obtain reciprocity in others.Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in STAAD (structural analysis) and AutoCAD.Technical Expertise: Strong conceptual design skills, site development knowledge, and a proven track record in complex problem-solving.Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.Benefits & CompensationCompetitive Salary: $100k–$120k based on experience.Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision care, plus a Health Savings Account (HSA) with company contributions.Security: Company-paid life and disability insurance.Retirement: 401(k) Plan with a competitive company match.Work-Life Balance: Generous paid vacation and holiday schedule.Candidates may be required to submit to a Criminal Background Check and a 10-Panel Drug Screen.Only U.S. Citizens or persons with a Green Card work permit may apply.Due to the large amount of resumes we expect to receive, only the most qualified candidates will be contacted.
