Mechanical AssemblerThe mechanical assembler assembles, starts up, and helps commission complex equipment and machinery. This role fits and assembles mechanical components using blueprints, manuals, engineering notes, and technical drawings, and supports the construction, rebuilding, and repair of machines and equipment. The position also involves operating material handling equipment, using a wide range of hand, power, and air tools, and performing test runs to ensure that completed tools and machines meet specifications.ResponsibilitiesAssemble, repair, and rebuild machinery by interpreting blueprints, technical documents, sketches, and engineering instructions, along with practical knowledge of machine construction.Operate various machinery and equipment including forklifts, and various tools.Troubleshoot and resolve new assembly challenges as they arise, identifying practical solutions independently or collaboratively.Maintain adaptability and clear communication while working in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume fabrication environment.Accurately read and use measuring tools.Document production results.Adhere to all company policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with established standards.Essential Skills3+ years of strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches, and other technical documentation.Complete proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and air tools used in mechanical assembly.Proficiency using measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, radius gauges, and go/no-go gauges.Experience with mechanical assembly of machinery and equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a large equipment or industrial manufacturing shop environment.Familiarity with tooling setup and adjustment in support of machine assembly.Exposure to welding processes in a manufacturing or repair setting.Comfort working with computer-based business systems for documentation and reporting.Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precise work.Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-output production environment with extended hours when required.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a comprehensive total rewards package that supports both their financial and personal well-being. The environment is hands-on and production-focused, involving regular use of jib and overhead cranes, forklifts, hand tools, power tools, air tools, and various measuring devices. Work takes place around large machinery and equipment, requiring consistent attention to safety procedures and safe operation of material handling and assembly equipment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
