Find your future with us.Lead Software EngineerWhy This is an Exciting Role:The Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Divisions GSCCE program is seeking motivated, goal-achieving, and team-oriented systems engineers to update, upgrade, and develop an updated and modernized global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground system that will manage the WGS Payloads for all F1-F12 Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites.As a Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) member of the GSCCE team, you will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and development to the maintenance and support of the delivered system for our customers. These roles provide opportunities for you to significantly influence project outcomes. The Boeing SI&WS Software team fosters a collaborative mentoring environment, allowing you to learn, mentor others, and contribute to shaping the future of our organization.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain responsive applications using Java, Python, React.js and related technologies.Collaborate with Software Engineers to implement design specifications, align with requirements, and peer code reviews.Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, recommend direction, and develop a solution to ensure optimal performance.Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code within the existing codebase, ensuring alignment with established architecture and coding standards.Excellent communication skills, working with end-users to design and build solutions to their needs, a habit of self-directed learning of new technologies, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.Experience and QualificationsTo be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:Required Education and Years of Experience:Bachelors degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, data science, or computer science and 9+ years of related experience ORMasters degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, data science, or computer science and 7+ years of related experience ORPhD from an accredited course of study in engineering, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related experience4 years of additional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degreeRequired Qualifications:Active Secret clearanceExperience leading software development teams and efforts5+ years of experience in Software Engineering using modern software development approaches.5+ years of experience with software development using either Java, C++, or Python5+ years of experience with web based development, leveraging ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS3+ years of experience with RESTFul APIsDesired Qualifications:5+ years of experience with open-source software development experience.5+ years of experience with fine tuning Kubernetes and the underlying host OS for optimal performance.5+ years of experience troubleshooting software and network integration during platform deployments.3+ years of experience as a well-rounded engineer who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, such as a front-end (UI/UX), database, and backend.Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices, along with experience supporting Government security requirements for software delivery involving system accreditation.Experience working in an Agile software development environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools.Additional DetailsTelework/Remote Availability: Hybrid work is authorized (minimum 3 days onsite per week)CodeVue Coding Challenge: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.
