Construction Superintendent/Project Manager
Job Summary
Element Landscape Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage residential and commercial construction and landscape construction projects throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can effectively manage field operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce quality standards, and deliver exceptional workmanship while ensuring safety, code compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Duties
Responsibilities
Oversee daily construction operations from project startup through completion.
Manage and coordinate multiple crews, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Interpret plans, specifications, engineering documents, permits, and project requirements.
Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
Conduct site inspections, quality control reviews, and safety meetings.
Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, inspection requirements, safety regulations, permit conditions, and project specifications.
Coordinate and facilitate inspections with local agencies and inspectors.
Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, project managers, designers, and office staff.
Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, project budgets, and material costs.
Coordinate deliveries, equipment needs, and site logistics.
Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid project delays.
Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, change orders, and progress updates.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, and workforce allocation.
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of Construction Superintendent experience.
Strong background in residential and commercial construction preferred.
Strong knowledge of general construction practices, carpentry, concrete, masonry, hardscape, grading, drainage, irrigation, and landscape construction.
Experience coordinating inspections and ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and permit requirements.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, engineering drawings, and contracts.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with smartphones, tablets, project management software, and construction technology.
Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
