Asset Management SpecialistJob at a GlanceTitle: Asset Management SpecialistLocation: Wilmington, DE (onsite)Contract: W2 only, 6 month contract + extensionsPay: $30-$40/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matchOverviewThe Asset Management Specialist will assist in all aspects of hardware and related purchasing. This position involves coordinating purchase activities, researching and evaluating vendors, completing purchase orders, and managing inventory and asset documentation. The role provides support to IT Asset Analysts and acts as a backup for daily tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and process all hardware procurement requests for endpoints, monitors, peripherals, headsets, etc.Track procurement and asset-related requests end to end, communicate expectations, timelines, and status updates to customers and stakeholders.Maintain accurate local and remote inventory levels for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and other IT hardware assets.Manage the full hardware asset lifecycle, including acquisition, receiving, deployment, maintenance, refresh, disposal, and retirement.Maintain the hardware asset databases within IT asset management and ITSM tools, ensuring data accuracy and completeness; generate reports as requested.Work closely with Infrastructure and End User Services teams to coordinate asset lifecycle activities and track vendor performance trends (e.g., delivery timelines, quality, warranty support).Review procurement and asset management processes on a continuous basis to identify process efficiency improvements, control enhancements, and standardization opportunities.Manage and coordinate hardware disposal requests in accordance with company policy.Identify opportunities to optimize hardware spend through reuse, refresh planning, lifecycle alignment, and vendor consolidation.Support leadership inquiries, and ad hoc asset-related initiatives as needed.Required SkillsExperience in hardware procurement and asset managementStrong coordination and communication skillsAbility to track and manage inventory accuratelyKnowledge of IT asset lifecycle processesFamiliarity with IT asset management and ITSM toolsAnalytical skills to review and improve procurement processesAbility to work closely with cross-functional teamsAttention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to support vendor performance trackingProblem-solving skills related to hardware lifecycle and disposalPreferred SkillsExperience with vendor evaluation and managementKnowledge of hardware disposal policiesSkills in report generation and data analysisExperience in process improvement initiativesFamiliarity with lifecycle planning and vendor consolidation strategiesWhy Should I Apply?This role offers an opportunity to be integral to hardware asset management within a dynamic IT environment.
