We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in the Ontario area that is seeking an experienced Controller to join its leadership team. This is a high-impact role for a finance professional who enjoys blending strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of accounting and operational finance.The Controller will oversee financial operations, lead the accounting team, drive compliance and reporting, and partner closely with executive leadership to support business planning, operational improvements, and profitable growth.Key Responsibilities:Lead all accounting and financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controlsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsProvide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisionsPartner with leadership on annual business planning, quarterly forecasts, and performance analysisOversee cost accounting activities, including inventory, work-in-process, labor variances, and purchase price variancesSupport product cost reviews, job costing analysis, and cost reduction initiativesManage inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory processesMonitor cash flow and working capital, and oversee banking activities and treasury-related functionsCoordinate annual audit activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirementsEstablish and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and proceduresLead, mentor, and develop a finance and accounting teamSupport operational excellence initiatives across the business, including continuous improvement effortsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience5+ years of experience leading or managing a finance/accounting teamStrong background in manufacturing finance, percentage of completion, cost accounting is a mustExperience with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and internal controlsKnowledge of inventory, bill of materials, routings, and standard costing in a manufacturing environmentAdvanced Excel skillsStrong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesCPA or advanced degree preferredExperience with continuous improvement methodologies is a plusWhy consider this opportunity?Key leadership role with visibility to executive managementOpportunity to influence financial strategy and operational performanceCollaborative environment with strong cross-functional partnershipStable and growing manufacturing business
