Afternoon Asst. Preschool Teacher

We are looking for a part time afternoon asst. floater preschool teacher to support various classes 3pm-6pm each day. Hours are slightly flexible and can be 3:30-6 if coming from another job or even 2-6 potentially if an earlier start time is helpful but it's not a full time position. Successful candidates should have a demonstrated interest in young children through previous employment, education or volunteer work. Responsibilities will include working with children in whole and small groups and individually in a developmentally appropriate way; building relationships with both children; engaging in appropriate activities that meet children’s needs; and observing children. Should be comfortable spending time outside and on long walks with children. Additional responsibilities include: Work in a collaborative team model Follow expectations/guidelines while integrating fresh ideas that are reflective of Giocare’s philosophy Perform daily physical tasks to keep the classroom tidy, organized and accessible for the children and teachers Creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, engaging and evolving with the class. Successful candidate is a quick learner and someone who is eager to gain experience in the early childhood classroom. Ideal candidate: Is in or about to start school or a CDA for early childhood education and wants to supplement education with real life experience. Has experience with an early childhood classroom (1 full year of experience desired) Has worked in a DOH permitted program before and comes with appropriate trainings and fingerprints Is reliable and can get to work on time and has consistent attendance.
