Process Planner
*Job Overview*
The *Process Planner* is responsible for coordinating and planning production activities across laser-welded and fabricated products, extrusion tooling, product processing, and outsourced services. This position works closely with Production, Special Projects, Laser Cutting, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure production priorities are properly scheduled and that materials, services, and logistics are aligned with customer requirements.
The Process Planner serves as a key coordination point between internal departments, company locations, and external service providers, helping ensure orders move efficiently through the production and supply-chain processes.
The primary performance measure for this position is *On-Time Delivery (OTD)*. The Process Planner is expected to proactively identify potential delays, coordinate corrective actions, and maintain visibility of orders throughout the production process to maximize OTD performance.
*Duties include:*
Production Planning – Laser-Welded & Fabricated Products
* Support the Production Manager and Special Project Manager in planning and scheduling production activities for laser-welded and fabricated products.
* Prioritize production based on customer due dates, order types, production requirements, and business priorities.
* Coordinate production schedules to optimize workflow, capacity, and available resources.
* Monitor order progress and proactively communicate potential delays or scheduling conflicts.
* Adjust production plans as priorities, material availability, capacity, or customer requirements change.
Production Planning – Extrusion Tooling & Product Processing
* Support the Laser-Cut Supervisor, Production Manager, and Special Project Manager with planning activities for extrusion tooling and processing of extruded products.
* Coordinate schedules according to order priorities, required processing steps, customer due dates, and order types.
* Plan and monitor finishing, processing, and other activities required to complete extruded products.
* Coordinate internally and externally provided processing services to maintain production flow and meet required completion dates.
* Identify bottlenecks and recommend scheduling adjustments to improve throughput and OTD.
Logistics & Warehousing
* Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to coordinate logistics and material movements required to support production.
* Organize and monitor transfers between *Conroe, TX and Tunica, MS* locations.
* Coordinate transportation and movement of materials, components, tooling, and finished or semi-finished products to external service providers.
* Ensure material movements are aligned with production schedules and customer due dates.
* Maintain visibility of material and product status throughout the logistics process.
Intercompany Services & Purchasing
* Serve as the primary point of contact for intracompany services between *Stainless Structurals and Extralloys*.
* Coordinate with the Purchasing Manager to register, schedule, and plan intercompany services.
* Monitor the status of intercompany services to ensure they are completed according to production requirements and customer due dates.
* Communicate priorities and timing requirements to appropriate internal stakeholders.
* Help identify and resolve issues that could affect production schedules or OTD.
Supply Chain Collaboration
* Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Manager to monitor raw material availability and ensure materials are available when required for production.
* Maintain awareness of material requirements and potential supply constraints that could impact customer due dates.
* Escalate material shortages, delays, and other supply-chain risks in a timely manner.
* Coordinate planning adjustments when raw material availability or supplier timing changes.
* Support efforts to maximize production efficiency and On-Time Delivery.
*Requirements:*
* High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited or recognized institution.
* *Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience*, preferably in production planning, scheduling, logistics, purchasing, supply chain, operations, or a related field.
* Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
* Ability to manage multiple orders, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
* Strong communication and coordination skills.
* Ability to identify potential problems and take proactive action to prevent delays.
* Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
* Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and stakeholders.
Preferred
* Experience with production planning, scheduling, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
* Experience working with ERP/MRP or other production planning systems.
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production environments.
* Experience coordinating work between multiple locations or external service providers.
* Experience using data and KPIs to monitor operational performance.
*Note:* Specific manufacturing experience is not required. Candidates with strong planning, scheduling, logistics, operations, or supply-chain backgrounds who demonstrate the ability to learn manufacturing processes are encouraged to apply.
