Associate Veterinarian

Southwest Veterinary Hospital, in south central Oklahoma is seeking to add a full-time veterinarian seeking the opportunity to build a career. We are located in a rural setting just one mile from the college town of Norman, Oklahoma. The state of Oklahoma has one of the lowest costs of living in the nation. Southwest Veterinary Hospital is an individually owned, non-corporate veterinary hospital that has been operating continually for 30 years. We are frequently voted among the client’s favorite in “The Best of Norman”. The practice is fast paced, yet low stress and laid back. Appointment schedule is 33 hours a week. There are no emergency, on call duties, or after hour duties. We enjoy practicing in a highly equipped, modern facility that was fully remodeled and expanded in 2022. The well compensated support staff are long-term employees who greatly contribute to the efficiency and light rapport of the practice. The support staff includes four registered veterinary technicians. Weekly meetings include all staff and owner in attendance. The owner’s door is always open. We do a great job taking care of our patients and have fun doing so. We offer full diagnostic, surgical, and dental services to our clients using digital radiograph, ultrasound, complete in house Idexx laboratory including urinary analyzer, and digital cytology. Our highly skilled support staff employ up to date induction protocols, maintain with gas anesthesia, and advanced surgical monitoring. We offer soft tissue surgery, spays/neuters, exploratory surgeries, orthopedic procedures including internal and external fracture repairs, TPLO’s, and other ACL repair techniques to our list of services. Associates will need sound diagnostic skills, and while surgery skills are a plus, they are certainly not necessary. People skills and the ability to work with others, is however, a requirement. Mentoring comes naturally to the professional staff, who are more than willing to help associates advance to a high level of professional and financial success.
