Senior Project Manager
Due to continued growth and a strong backlog of infrastructure work, the company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager capable of leading multiple projects and mentoring project teams while driving operational excellence from preconstruction through closeout.Position OverviewThe Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management, financial performance, execution, and successful delivery of underground utility and heavy civil construction projects.This role requires a strong leader with deep infrastructure experience, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage complex municipal and private-sector work in fast-paced environments.The ideal candidate understands the technical, operational, and financial demands of underground utility construction and can effectively coordinate field operations, project teams, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee multiple underground utility and heavy civil construction projects simultaneouslyManage project lifecycle from preconstruction through final completionLead project teams including project managers, engineers, superintendents, and field personnelDevelop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and production trackingCoordinate with municipalities, engineers, inspectors, and utility authoritiesManage client relationships and maintain proactive communication throughout project executionOversee subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and performance managementReview and manage:Review and oversee Contracts, Change orders , RFIs, Submittals, Cost reporting and Monthly projectionsEnsure projects meet safety, quality, and profitability goalsIdentify and mitigate project risks proactivelySupport estimating and preconstruction efforts as neededMentor and develop junior project management staffCollaborate closely with executive leadership on operational planning and company growth initiativesQualifications10+ years of heavy civil or underground utility construction experience5+ years in a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager roleStrong background managing:Water main projectsSewer infrastructureDrainage systemsPump stationsRoadway reconstructionSitework and excavationExperience managing municipal public works projects strongly preferredProven success managing project financials and maintaining profitabilityStrong understanding of underground utility construction methods and sequencingExcellent organizational, leadership, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple complex projects simultaneouslyExperience with project management software and scheduling platformsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferredValid driver’s license requiredWhat’s OfferedCompetitive compensation package with performance incentivesCompany vehicle or vehicle allowanceComprehensive medical and dental benefits401(k) with company contributionPaid vacation and holidaysLong-term growth opportunity with a stable and expanding contractorStrong project pipeline throughout Eastern MassachusettsCollaborative, family-oriented culture with accessible leadership
