Factory ManagerPosition SummaryThe Factory Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, productivity, safety, and service performance. This role oversees production planning, operational execution, team leadership, and process optimization to ensure products are manufactured according to cost, quality, and delivery expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.Establish and communicate performance expectations while coaching, mentoring, and developing employees.Monitor employee performance and provide recognition, corrective action, and support as needed.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment that promotes operational excellence.Develop and manage systems for production planning, capacity management, inventory control, and purchasing activities.Drive improvements in productivity, inventory reduction, service levels, and overall manufacturing performance.Lead initiatives supporting lean manufacturing practices, setup reduction, assemble-to-order, and build-to-order strategies.Evaluate, justify, and implement new technologies and equipment to improve operational effectiveness and profitability.Develop training programs and build cross-functional, multi-skilled teams.Partner with suppliers to ensure quality standards and delivery requirements are consistently met.Utilize quality management systems and problem-solving methodologies to support corrective actions and process improvements.Oversee preproduction activities and value-improvement projects.Identify opportunities for process enhancements and product value improvements.Manage operational resources and staff to achieve business objectives.Maintain an active presence on the manufacturing floor to support production teams and operational performance.Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.Perform additional duties as required.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience, including process improvement and capital equipment implementation.Previous supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of manufacturing systems including forecasting, MRP, SPC, labor tracking, and cost management.Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills.Demonstrated ability to lead operational and manufacturing improvement initiatives.Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Preferred QualificationsMBA or advanced Engineering degree.Machining or machinist experience.Experience managing budgets and departmental financial performance.Purchasing and vendor management experience.Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).Experience leading manufacturing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
