All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, ancestry, color, disability, familial status, gender or gender identity, genetic information, military service, national origin, pregnancy and related conditions, race, religion, sex, veteran status, or any other basis prohibited by law.Essential Job FunctionsPrepares and delivers relevant and current curriculum using a variety of teaching methods and standardized tools that accurately reflect effectiveness of course content including instructional objectives, expected competencies, entrustable professional activities (EPA), content outlines, lecture notes, instructional methods/activities, handouts, and evaluation tools that are distributed to teaching faculty and/or studentsMeasures student understanding of course content in an objective fashionMaintains accurate records of student attendance, academic achievement, and performance in accordance with university policies, procedures and accreditation requirementsDistributes to each student, in each course, a university approved syllabus that includes course objectives, texts, attendance policy and materials required for course and evaluation criteriaPosts and maintains regular office hours for student consultation per guidelines set forth in the faculty manualRefers students to appropriate university resources for information, financial assistance, career development, or other guidanceMonitors and communicates consistently with any student in danger of failure or in need of individual counselingAssists with updating program handbooks and other programmatic manualsParticipates in student advising and remedial instructionAttends scheduled faculty meetings, department meetings, faculty orientation, training programs, and committee meetings of which they are membersServes as a committee member as assigned by the dean, department chair, program director, or elected by the faculty members at largeParticipates in student orientation, admissions events, open houses, Family Weekend, competitions, professional conferences, and other events as directed by the department chair or directorSupports extracurricular activities which advance the PA Program and/or PA profession by attendance and/or service as an advisorSelects applicants for admission to the programDesigns, implements, coordinates, and evaluates curriculum in accordance with accreditation and university requirementsPerforms in accordance with university and program policies and procedures including maintaining familiarity with Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant Inc. (ARC-PA) standardsPerforms other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsMaster's degree in physician assistant studies or a terminal degree, if physician or pharmacist, from an accredited program Clinical experience working as a physician assistant, physician or pharmacistCurrent NCCPA Certification, board certification (MD or DO) or pharmacist certificationValid physician assistant, physician or pharmacist license for the State of Rhode Island or eligibility to obtain such licensureValid U.S. driver's licensePreferred QualificationsExperience in cardiologyPlease NoteQualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until job posting is closed.
