High School Mathematics Teacher
The CAC Secondary Campus Mathematics Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing instruction in high school mathematics for students in grades 9–12. This includes instruction in mathematics disciplines, including foundational math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and advanced secondary mathematics, such as precalculus, calculus, and college algebra. Teachers are entrusted with advancing CAC's mission and vision.In collaboration with the MS/HS School Leadership Team, teachers are responsible for the development and execution of standards-aligned curriculum and instructional strategies that lead to student growth and achievement as measured by standards-based assessments.Essential FunctionsFunction 1: Provide for the development of curriculum, instructional design, and assessment practices that guide and promote teacher effectiveness and student learningFunction 2: Ensure that the school has resources and provides services that support student successFunction 3: Implement a comprehensive assessment system of student learning and school effectiveness to guide continuous improvementFunction 4: Oversee the administration of school policies and procedures that govern student behavior and all student non-academic programs and servicesResponsibilitiesBasic ExpectationsPlan and implement mathematics instruction that meets the needs of all learnersAssess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedbackCollaborate with colleagues to develop and implement mathematics curriculumCommunicate effectively with parents and guardiansProfessional ExpectationsSupport the school's Statement of Faith, Community Covenant, Mission, Philosophy, Goals, Policies, and ProceduresDeliberately and consistently align decisions and actions with the school's missionDemonstrate spiritual leadership and maturityShow evidence of professional standards of presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretionMaintain professional credentials and/or certificationStrong understanding of middle school and high school mathematics content and best instructional practicesComplete a minimum of 36 hours of approved professional development each yearKeep current in scholarship on curriculum, instruction, assessment, and the purposes of Christian educationQualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in education or a relevant field, Masters in mathematics preferred License/Certifications: Arkansas teacher's license (or eligibility to obtain one)
