Production Supervisor

We currently have an opening for Production Supervisor in our Sentran Electronics facility, located in Salem, OR. This position is critical to the success of iNRCORE Group and will be supporting the Sentran team, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager. The ideal candidate for this position should demonstrate effective leadership and accountability, sound decision-making and problem-solving skills, clear and consistent communication and solid operational knowledge.
Details of the Role:
The position of Production Supervisor will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all production and operational activities during the swing shift. This role serves as the sole on-site management authority during assigned hours, overseeing production staff, ensuring safety compliance, and making independent decisions to maintain workflow and productivity.
During the course of a standard workday, you will be expected to lead shift operations, manage personnel, monitor production output, enforce safety standards, address issues in real time, and communicate effectively with off-site management to ensure continuity between shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Coaching
Directly supervise, motivate, and develop a team of 10–15 Employees as the only on-site manager
Conduct shift briefings to communicate goals, priorities, and carry-over items from day shift
Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and recognition to team members
Identify training needs and coordinate with management to address skill gaps
Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
Complete performance documentation and contribute meaningfully to Employee reviews
Production & Output Goals
Monitor shift productivity and ensure daily/nightly targets are met or exceeded
Coordinate workflow, staffing assignments, and task prioritization across the shift
Track and report key production metrics at shift end
Communicate any output shortfalls or delays to off-site management per established protocols
Ensure a thorough and accurate handoff between day shift and swing shift
Safety & Compliance
Serve as the final safety authority on-site during the swing shift
Enforce all safety policies, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards without exception
Conduct or oversee shift safety walks and pre-shift equipment checks
Investigate, act on, and document any incidents, near-misses, or injuries immediately
Make the call to stop operations or remove personnel from duty when safety is at risk
Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work environment
Problem-Solving & Independent Decision-Making
Function as the sole on-site management authority — exercising sound judgment without waiting for direction
Make real-time decisions on quality holds, equipment shutdowns, workflow disruptions, and staffing gaps
Approve or deny overtime as needed within company guidelines
Proactively identify inefficiencies and bring improvement recommendations to management
Personnel & Discipline
Address behavioral issues, policy violations, and conflict immediately in a professional and consistent manner. If appropriate, obtain assistance from management and HR
Issue verbal and written warnings in accordance with company policy
Document all disciplinary actions thoroughly and accurately
Coordinate with off-site management or HR on serious incidents requiring additional authority
Make judgment calls on sending an employee home when conduct or safety demands it
Communication & Reporting
Maintain clear communication between day shift leadership and swing shift
Submit accurate end-of-shift reports covering production, attendance, incidents, and notable events
Keep off-site management informed of significant issues using good judgment about urgency
Maintain shift logs and documentation in an organized, audit-ready manner
Qualifying Attributes and Skills
High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent work-related experience
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
Minimum of 2 to 3 + years of supervisory or leadership experience; prior experience as a sole or lead supervisor strongly preferred
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team independently without on-site management support
Experience leading teams in a production-driven, fast-paced environment
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act quickly and effectively
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Detail-oriented with strong planning, analysis, and execution skills
Proven success in developing and maintaining a high-performing team culture
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with employees at all levels and off-site management
Basic computer proficiency for reporting, communication, and documentation
Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and safety documentation
Willingness to be flexible with changing priorities and operational needs
Must be reliable and maintain consistent attendance
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and remain active on the production floor for the duration of the shift
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds as needed
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise and varying temperatures
Must have the ability to use handle tools, materials, and equipment safely
Additional Requirements:
All candidates selected for this role will spend their first 30 days on day shift, working alongside experienced supervisors and management. The candidate must be available and willing to transition to swing shift hours following successful completion of the training period.
