Lead IT/OT Engineer

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Lead IT/OT Engineer to serve as the senior technical resource responsible for the design, administration, security, and support of enterprise technology systems. This position provides technical leadership, drives infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives, manages projects, and serves as the highest escalation point for complex technical issues.The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, and technical project leadership within a complex technology environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and operational technology environments.Serve as the primary escalation point for advanced infrastructure, network, systems, and cybersecurity issues.Manage and support server, network, cloud, and endpoint technologies.Plan and execute technology projects from inception through completion.Identify, prioritize, and remediate infrastructure risks, security vulnerabilities, and technical debt.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to deliver technology services and projects.Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, standards, and support materials.Manage system backups, disaster recovery processes, and business continuity initiatives.Monitor and maintain cybersecurity tools, controls, and compliance requirements.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to IT team members and end users.Track and resolve issues through a ticketing and service management platform.Participate in after-hours support and emergency response activities when necessary.Technical EnvironmentCandidates should have experience supporting and administering technologies such as:VMware vSphere or similar virtualization platformsMicrosoft Windows Server environmentsActive Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related servicesMicrosoft 365 and Exchange OnlineEnterprise LAN/WAN/VPN networksFirewalls and network security solutionsEndpoint protection and device management platformsSIEM, XDR, IDS/IPS, MFA, and other cybersecurity technologiesBackup and disaster recovery solutionsCloud and SaaS applicationsPreferred Technical ExperienceExperience with any of the following is highly desirable:Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, or similar networking platformsSonicWall or enterprise firewall technologiesPowerShell scripting and automationVeeam backup solutionsSentinelOne, SecureWorks, KnowBe4, or similar security platformsVoice and collaboration technologiesIndustrial, manufacturing, utility, or operational technology environmentsQualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems administration, network administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related technical discipline.Experience leading infrastructure, security, or enterprise technology initiatives.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems, networking, and cybersecurity domains.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Preferred CertificationsCompTIA A+CompTIA Network+CompTIA Security+Microsoft CertificationsVMware CertificationsCisco CertificationsOther relevant infrastructure or cybersecurity certificationsWhat We're Looking ForHands-on infrastructure and systems expertiseStrong networking and cybersecurity knowledgeTechnical leadership and project ownershipVendor and stakeholder management experienceSelf-motivated problem solver capable of working independentlyCommitment to operational excellence, reliability, and securityTechnology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
